Terry Cooper: Former Leeds and England defender dies at the age of 77

Last update on.Terry Cooper was awarded five major honors while at Elland RoadTerry Cooper, a former Leeds defender, has passed away at the age of77.Cooper played 351 times for Leeds between 1962-75, during one of the greatest periods in club history.The full-back was the one who scored the goal against Arsenal at Wembley in 1968's League Cup final. He also played in the team that won the First Division title the next season.He won 20 caps for England, and he also played in the 1970 World Cup in Mexico.Cooper moved from Leeds to Middlesbrough, where he also spent time at Bristol City and Bristol Rovers. Cooper retired in 1984 after another spell at Bristol City.Later, he would manage both the Bristol and Exeter clubs. He also had two stints as Exeter manager after a two-year spell as Birmingham's assistant coach.
