Marcus Spears expressed concern about the Colts' season because Carson Wentz is out indefinitely due to a foot injury. (1:15).Sources told ESPN that Carson Wentz, Indianapolis Colts quarterback, is now out indefinitely following further testing for a foot injury he sustained at Thursday's practice.Marcus Brady, offensive coordinator, said that Wentz felt a "twist in his foot" as he rolled out to throw late in practice.Wentz is still waiting for more information from testing. The team hopes to have an idea of how long Wentz will be sidelined once foot specialist Robert Anderson reviews scans. A source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.According to ESPN, the Colts don't consider this a season-ending injury.Brady said that he was with the doctors and trying to understand the process. He was speaking in the place of Frank Reich (COVID-19). "I'm still evaluating the next move, and how bad it is. We'll move on from there. The Colts acquired Wentz in the offseason. They reunited Reich with him by giving the Philadelphia Eagles a second-round selection in this year's draft as well as a conditional second round pick in 2022.After being sacked 50-times and throwing 15 interceptions in 12 games, Wentz was replaced by Jalen Hurts of the Eagles.Wentz has been injuried five times during his first five years of the NFL. In 2017, he suffered a season-ending ACL tear. Only twice has he played a complete season in his entire career. After deciding to not re-sign Jacoby Bridget, the Colts cannot afford Wentz to be absent for any significant time.Jacob Eason, second-year quarterback, took over the starter's duties at Friday's practice. Sam Ehlinger was the backup. Eason didn't take a snap in 2020.Brady stated that Eason is improving every day. "Biggest thing is that we want to keep getting him reps."Brady added to Wentz's injury by saying that Pro Bowl center Ryan Kelly may miss a few weeks due to hyperextension of his left elbow after he collided with Marlon Mack, running back. Danny Pinter was part of the center's first unit. The Colts are also without Darius Leonard, their linebacker (ankle), and a variety of players who have COVID-related issues such as Xavier Rhodes, their starting cornerback.
