It is the highest level since February 7. According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (USDHHS), more than 48,000 people have been hospitalized for Covid in the U.S. According to the New York Times this is an increase of around 300 deaths per day, compared to 175 deaths per day in January.What to WatchMany counties and cities in the U.S. have reacted to earlier restrictions in the pandemic. Some cities have reinstituted mask mandates while the U.S. Centers for Disease Control urged those living in areas with high transmission rates to use masks in public indoor spaces. This could result in more mask mandates. His administration announced Thursday that all federal employees, contractors and military personnel will be required to get vaccinated against the coronavirus.
