Bloomberg's Mark Gurman said this week that Face ID will be coming to the Mac in the near future.Gurman believes Apple's ultimate goal to switch to Face ID for most of its products, including the lower-end iPhone models like the iPhone SE or the iPad Air that currently have Touch ID.Elon Musk, Tesla CEO, Takes a Shot at Apple during Earnings CallElon Musk, Tesla CEO, made some sharp comments this month about Apple's "walled garden" as well as the company's use the rare-earth element Cobalt. This has been linked to human rights issues such as forced child labor, environmental concerns, and proximity to mining sites.Later in the week Musk publicly supported Epic Games in their dispute with Apple, calling Apple's App store "a de facto tax on the Internet".A new book on Tesla claims that Musk demanded to be named Apple CEO during a phone conversation with Tim Cook regarding a possible acquisition of Tesla by Apple. Musk denied this claim, claiming that he has never spoken to Cook.Apple Reports 3Q 2021: $21.7B Profit on 81.4B Revenue, Apple Reports New June Quarter RecordsApple announced this week financial results for its third quarter 2021 fiscal. This roughly covered April through June. Apple reported revenue of $81.4billion and net quarterly profits of $21.7billion, or $1.30 per share. This beats the June quarter record.Apple Requires Leaker to Reveal Sources Threatened by Being Report to PoliceApple reported strong results across all its product and service segments. However, CEO Tim Cook said that the company expects supply constraints to impact iPhone and iPad sales during the current quarter.Apple recently sent letters to prominent leakers, asking them to stop sharing information on unreleased products or face legal action. Further details have been revealed this week.iPadOS 15 Gets MacOS Monterey's New Safari Tab InterfaceApple demanded information leakers disclose any sources that provided them with information on Apple products not publically available. Apple also stated that leaks could mislead accessory/case makers.This week's fourth beta release of iPadOS 15 introduces some tweaks to Safari. The browser's layout now matches the updated design introduced in macOS Monterey's third beta.iPhone 14 Pro to Come with Tougher Titanium DesignApple also released a fourth beta version of macOS Monterey this week to developers. This version allows for the Live Text feature on Intel Macs, which was previously only available to Macs with M1 chips.According to JPMorgan Chase, the next year's "iPhone 14", lineup will feature high-end models with a new chassis design made of titanium alloy.MacRumors NewsletterAccording to an investor note, the use of titanium alloy in the casing design for the 2022 iPhone models will be one the most significant changes.
