DalcantonThis image, taken by the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope (which captures a three-way gravitational tug of war between interconnected galaxies), shows a dramatic triplet galaxies. This system, known as Arp 195is featured on the Atlas of Peculiar Galaxies. It is a list that showcases some of most bizarre and beautiful galaxies in our universe.Hubble observation time is very valuable and astronomers do not want to waste any second. Hubble's observations are calculated by a computer algorithm that allows for bonus data snapshots to be taken between longer observations. One such image is this one of the galaxies colliding in Arp 195.These extra observations provide more than stunning images. They also help to identify promising targets that can be followed up with telescopes like the NASA/ESA/CSA James Webb Space Telescope.Continue reading Image: Hubble images, a dynamic duo that is dazzling and inspiring
