Team USA's Connor Fields out of critical care unit after BMX racing crash at Summer Olympics

After a terrifying crash during the third semifinal heat of the Tokyo Olympics, Connor Fields, BMX rider from the United States, is now out of the hospital.USA Cycling released a statement Saturday stating that Fields suffered a brain hemorhage. However, doctors after overnight in the ICU declared that there was no further bleeding or new injuries.After his first two heats, Fields finished fourth and was hard off a jump going into the third turn. Two other riders hit Fields, a 28-year old Las Vegas resident. Fields was left on the track for several hours before medical personnel arrived to help.ResultsFields qualified for finals based upon his two first heats, but he was unable to ride. Niek Kimmann from the Netherlands won gold.Fields was the first American BMX rider who won gold at Rio Games 2016. He was also a favourite to win it again in Tokyo.
