Google Fi Reportedly Isn't Letting Users Call Poison Control

There are many poisonous substances around the world. These can be anything from common items like nail polish, to more unusual things like house plants. It is important that you know how to contact Poison Control in case of exposure. Unfortunately, this may not be possible if you are a Google Fi user.Advertisement9to5Google reports that some Google Fi users are having trouble getting through to the Poison Control hotline. They receive a message saying, "Your call cannot be completed as dialed." This message then gives instructions on how to contact Google Fis customer service. 9to5Google reports that the problem has been ongoing for several months. It cites various threads on Reddit where users have had trouble getting through and also some troubling experiences.I had the same issue with my baby a few months back when she was sick. I managed to get the baby safe top off [ibuprofen] I had to call support and answer several questions. I finally hung up and tried again ...., a user said in July.Reddit users did not express difficulty in reaching the Poison helpline. The affected users were distributed across the country, and they used both iOS and Android.The Poison Help Line is a federal service that connects U.S. residents with local poison centers in an emergency. It allows them to speak to poison experts, pharmacists, and nurses. The experts will tell you what to do, and whether additional help is needed.The Health Resources and Services Administration oversees the program and explains that children's caregivers are frequent callers. The agency insists that poisoning can occur to anyone and that the majority of poisoning deaths happen in adults.9to5Google was informed by Google that the company is aware of the problem and is currently investigating.Gizmodo reached to Google to confirm the report, and to request comment.
