Because of concerns about political and legal resistance, employers waited for months to make decisions about vaccine mandates. With renewed pandemic restrictions and encouragement from government leaders, many of the country's largest companies are now open to the idea.Walmart and Walt Disney Company announced Friday that certain employees must be vaccinated. Similar announcements were made by Uber, Google, Facebook and Uber this week.Walmart, which employs nearly 1.6 million people, announced that vaccines will be required for all employees at its headquarters as well as for managers who travel to the United States. This mandate does not apply for employees working in clubs, stores, distribution or fulfillment centers.Walmarts chief executive Doug McMillon stated that he believes we have a significant role and required vaccinations for all of his leaders to help end this pandemic.
