TOKYO -- American swimmer Caeleb Dessel has added another world record to his growing collection of medals at the Tokyo Olympics. Katie Ledecky won another gold medal at her Olympics.Dressel was awarded his third gold medal at the Games for Saturday's 100-meter butterfly race.Ledecky won her 800 freestyle gold about 20 minutes later. However, Ariarne Titmus, an Australian rival, pushed Ledecky hard.Ledecky ended up with two golds and two silvers at the Tokyo Aquatics Centre. Although not as successful as five years ago in Rio de Janeiro but still not bad.Dressel was the leader from the beginning and defeated Kristof Milan of Hungary to reach the finish in 49.45 seconds. Simona Quadarella from Italy took the bronze in 8:18.35.Ledecky lost the first two matches with Titmus but won their final matchup.Another gold was won by the Australian women.Katie Grimes, an American teammate, said that it was thrilling to see Katie race someone in the Olympics. "We don’t see that often."Kaylee McKeown won the 200 butterfly, completing a sweep in all backstroke events. Her winning time was 2 minutes and 68 seconds.Canada's Kylie Masse won the silver in 2:05.42. Emily Seebohm of Australia claimed bronze in 2:06.17.The Americans Phoebe Bacon and Rhyan White finished fourth and fifth, respectively.The Australian women have won six gold medals in Tokyo swimming and seven overall golds.Dressel's win started a busy day.He had to rush back to the deck to get to the semifinals for the 50 freestyle. This was where he won the heat. He qualified with 21.42 seconds and was eligible to compete in Sunday's final for another chance at winning a gold.Dressel was also the anchor of the 4x100 mixed Medley relay, an Olympic event featuring two men and two ladies from each team.He will likely take part in the finals of two more swimming events at the Tokyo Aquatics Centre on Sunday.Dressel will become the fourth and fifth swimmers to sweep his events.Michael Phelps, the swimming icon, did it twice.
