New York Mets ace Jacob deGrom out until September with right forearm inflammation

According to the New York Mets, Jacob deGrom will not be available until September because of additional inflammation in his right forearm.Right-hander and ace righty is currently 7-2 in 15 starts with a 2.08 ERA. He last pitched on July 7, when he struck out 10 batters in seven innings against Milwaukee. He will be unable to throw for two weeks. This will push the timeline for his return to September.Luis Rojas, manager of the team, didn't give any additional information during his pregame media conference. Other than to mention that deGrom did not throw on Friday. DeGrom has been diagnosed with five injuries -- right lat tightness right side tightness right shoulder soreness, right side tightness right flexor tendinitis, right shoulder soreness and right lat tightness right side tightness -- and has had two starts pushed back. He also had a stint on the injured roster in May. DeGrom said that the four previous injuries he suffered while batting had been caused by him landing on the IL.DeGrom stated that he has trouble releasing a baseball and is having trouble throwing it correctly when he goes to do so. This was in mid-July, the Mets officially placed him onto the IL. It was literally like I was kicking a baseball, and it never got better. It just kept going tight, even when I was on the plate. My elbow is structurally sound. The frustration is what I am experiencing. I don't know what to do. What caused it?On Friday, Carlos Carrasco made his debut as a Mets starting pitcher. The Mets have had 16 different starters. For the first time in nine year, the Mets wore black uniform tops.Carrasco, who was part of the Francisco Lindor Trade in the offseason missed the first four month with a hamstring injury.In a deal last week between the Rays, the Mets acquired Rich Hill and added Javier Baez to their roster. Trevor Williams was also added in the major deadline deal with Cubs on Friday. Williams is currently 4-2 and has a 5.06 ERA in 13 games (12 start) with the Cubs. He has been hard hit, allowing 10 homers and a.833 OPS over 58.2 innings.The rotation is now comprised of Tylor Megill and Tylor Carrasco. Williams will likely be moving to the bullpen. Walker, who has allowed 17 runs in 9.1 innings in his last three starts, has had a poor start with Megill's 2.04 ERA.
