The 31-year old had announced in June that he was ready for a new challenge.After Yee had been briefly beaten in the bike stage by Vincent Luis, Britain won the seventh Tokyo gold.Britain was 14 seconds ahead of the United States, while France won the bronze medal.Yee, silver medallist for the men's individual, said that he was scared of taking over as the race had been perfected by the three previous.After a strong first leg by Learmonth Brownlee broke free from the pack. Taylor-Brown, Yee and Taylor-Brown were the individual women's silver medallists. Britain won the third triathlon medal of this week.Brownlee, who won bronze in London nine-years ago and silver in Rio with his brother Alistair, finished fifth in Monday's individual race.He played an important part in Britain's victory on Saturday.Brownlee, 31, said that he had completed the Olympics.It feels incredible. It's my third Olympics, and I walk away with gold."We knew going into the race that there would be a lot pressure, so we all had to race well and do everything right. That's exactly what we did."Learmonth, a 33-year old two-time Commonwealth Games gold medallist, said to the BBC that he couldn't believe it. Although I was nervous to be in a team with Olympic medallists, I am so happy that we ran a great race.Taylor-Brown (27 years old) established a 23 second lead at one stage of the third leg, following Brownlee's footsteps."I tried not to panic. She said Jonny gave her such a large lead."I knew that I needed to take some time to relax and not be too stressed about it. That's when things can get very bad.""I knew that I had to give it all the way and leave as much space as possible for Yee boy!"Yee, who will be making his Games debut, said he had to react after being overtaken on the bike by Luis before pulling away during a run.He said, "I know that my run is my strength so I just went for the finish." It's incredible to be here with these amazing guys.Yee, 23 years old, represented Great Britain in 10,000m at the European Championships 2018. She trained with the Brownlee brothers of Leeds to become a triathlete.He was injured in a serious bike crash in his first World Cup event, June 2017.
