Tom Hanks is teaming up with Wes Anderson

Wes Anderson spent the past 20 years building one of the most unique and interesting rosters of weirdos in cinematic history. This was a touring troupe of oddballs that was built around stars such as Owen, Luke Wilson, and Bill Murray. Anderson is now reportedly starring in the film with one of the most prominent names: Tom Hanks. Hanks will appear alongside Murray and Tilda Swiftinton in Anderson's next film, The French Dispatch.AdvertisementAccording to THR, the noted birthday DJ and certified Genial Smiling Man Tom Hanks will be adding his star power for the untitled film. According to the same report, Hanks' role in the movie is expected to be minor. But you all know how it goes: Once you have the Anderson company's hooks in your head, it can be hard to leave. It's somewhat similar to the Coen brothers' roving cast of earnest characters actors, but it is worth noting that Hanks was one of very few actors who could be one-and done with them. The Ladykillers' power is truly unstoppable. There is very little information available about the new Anderson movie. It is expected that it will be shot in Spain and that Adrien Brody will star. Anderson will also be directing the film. We have little to do but speculate about the role Hanks will play once he takes these beautifully composed shots. Perhaps hell will play Cloud Atlas-style against the type and take on the villain, perhaps a snarling Viscount wearing a perfectly tailored jacket. Maybe hell can lend the Hanks-ian charms of Hanks to a memorable service worker who imparts some loopy wisdom to other characters. Maybe hell can just have a scene with Willem Dafoe. D ang: I would love to see Tom Hanks perform a fun scene with Willem Dafoe.
