They won with four wickets over Birmingham Phoenix. It was a thrilling match at the Ageas Bowl. After losing their first two matches, Brave won the highest run chase in men's competition. Captain Vince led the charge with a stunning 60 off 38 balls.Chris Jordan and Liam Dawson had to win the last five deliveries. They saw their team home in Southampton with three balls left.Liam Livingstone hit 68 runs from 44 balls earlier and shared a 104-run run unbeaten stand alongside Miles Hammond who scored on 44 of 29 deliveries.Brave moves up one spot to sixth in the table with this win, just behind Phoenix.Captain's knock from classy VinceVince was a great driver through the mid-off, scoring all over but with great success.Yesterday, we asked if Trent Rockets, with their three wins from three, were the team to beat.We might have wondered if it was a third consecutive loss for Southern Brave today.Instead, one of the pre-tournament favorites came back from losses to Rockets or Welsh Fire and it was their skipper.Simply put, Vince was a joy to watch. It was a captain’s knock that showcased beautiful stroke-making and more purposeful power shots.Tom Helm's poor bowling was punished by him hitting 18 consecutive balls, including a six that cleared the seats.Vince made batting seem effortless. Perhaps best illustrated was a high-flying cover drive off Benny Howell's bowling for six. After which, he held the pose and took in his own work.It was Chris Jordan's 17 runs off nine deliveries, and some more wayward bowling by Helm (who conceded 40 runs from 17 deliveries) that saw Brave win. But it all began at the top with Vince.Livingstone's skillful and lucky showAfter posting a record score, Phoenix will regret it.It was almost like the Liam Livingstone Show, with the 27-year old confirming his status as one of the most important hitters in the game. However, the England batter had his fair share of luck.Livingstone had clubbed Colin de Grandhomme six times and miscued the next delivery. Vince caught him at mid-off.Brave huddle members received high fives and pats the back before the TV umpire gave him a no-ball signal.Livingstone tried to conceal a mischievous smile by lowering his brave heads. He smacked for six with the very next ball, a free one. What is the difference between winless and contenders? ReactionMichael Carberry, former England and Hampshire batter on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra: "It is a good sign that James Vince has discovered some touch."Their bowling is very strong and they have a lot pace. They had a slow start to the tournament, but they are a team capable of contending."
