Boston Celtics trading Tristan Thompson to Atlanta Hawks for Kris Dunn, second-round pick

Sources tell ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski that the Boston Celtics have traded Tristan Thompson to Atlanta Hawks in exchange for Kris Dunn, point guard Kris Dunn and forward Bruno Fernando. Also, a 2023 second round pick.Thompson, 30, averaged 7.6 rebounds and 8.1 points while playing at both the frontcourt positions in Boston last season.Last month, the Celtics traded Kemba to the Oklahoma City Thunder in order to bring back Al Horford, a long-time Celtics big man. This created a need for point guard and filled Thompson's role as the frontcourt player.Atlanta signed Dunn (27) last offseason to strengthen their perimeter defense. However, he only played in four games last season after undergoing ankle surgery.Dunn is in the final year of a $10 million 2-year deal he signed with Hawks.
