Apple announced a few years back that it would revamp its Maps app. It will have more detailed maps, better road coverage and faster navigation. These improvements were made in the United States of America, Canada, Ireland, Portugal and Spain. Now, Apple is focusing on Italy.Justin O'Beirne (Apple Maps enthusiast) claims that Apple has recently begun testing the new Maps experience on the Italian Peninsula. This includes San Marino and Vatican City. For now, the updated maps are only available for devices running iOS 15 or public betas. However, Apple announced at WWDC 2021 that it would expand its Maps experience to all users in Australia and Italy later in the year.Apple announced in early 2020 that it would start rolling out the updated Maps experience throughout Europe within the next months. Other countries will soon follow suit. New maps offer more detailed views of roads and buildings, as well as shopping malls and airports.
