August 2021 will be a significant month for Star Trek lovers. Yes, Paramount+ shows like Lower Decks are returning to the service slowly (August 12th returns Lower Decks), but it's also the 100th anniversary for something even more important: Gene Roddenberry's birth. Star Trek's creator was born August 19, 1921. The company named in his honour is celebrating with clever and fun ways.AdvertisementRoddenberry Entertainment is hosting a one-year celebration called ThinkTrek, in which Trek stars, fans and others come together to celebrate the franchise via social media. MakeTrek is a platform that encourages artists to make fun things to celebrate Star Trek's meaning to them. Samuel Hatmak er, a Brick Builder (some may remember him from the U.S. Lego Masters' first season), has been creating amazing brick art. After the iconic kiss between Lieutenant Uhura, Captain Kirk, he created a piece that embodied the Vulcan philosophy IDIC (Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations). Now, io9 has exclusive access to Hatmakers' third build. It features a famous Vulcan doing a particular gesture that conveys a powerful message.Yes, it's Spock telling us to live long lives and prosper. While Leonard Nimoy's image is impressive, the 3D hand really makes the piece pop, literally and metaphorically. These are just a few images of the piece.Photo: Roddenberry Entertainment/Jayde Alayne photography Samuel Hatmater with his creation Photo: Roddenberry Entertainment/Jayde Alayne Photographic Image: Roddenberry Entertainment/Jayde Alayne Photo: Roddenberry Entertainment/Jayde Alayne Photographic Photo: Roddenberry Entertainment/Jayde Alayne Photography 1/8This is only one brick of a larger ThinkTrek initiative.
