It was won by Harry Leask and Angus Groom in a close men's quadruple sculls race.Britain was the top rowing nation at Beijing 2008 and Rio 2016. It won six, nine, and five medals at these Games.Glover, who was awarded gold in 2012 and 2016 by the United States, was determined to be the first British woman to win three Olympics.Glover, who made her comeback in March last year, said that she was pleased with the outcome.Craig and Grant were fourth in a race that Dame Katherine Grainger, a British five-time rowing medallist, described as "a great advertisement" for lightweight rowing.France was beaten by Italy to the gold medal, while the Netherlands won the bronze. She gave birth to twins Kit, and Willow in 2018. In 2019, she had her son Logan with Steve Backshall, a television presenter.Her return began in March last year, when the Tokyo Games were delayed for 12 months due to the coronavirus pandemic.Swann, who was Glover's partner in the partnership between Glover and Heather Stanning after London 2012, reunited her with Swann."This has felt like a more meaningful journey than any other thing we have done." Glover said that after New Zealand, Canada, and the Russian Olympic Committee won the medals, they also look at the journey to get there and the number of crews that are lost."You cannot say that a final place isn't exciting."The last year is one that we will look back on. I think it feels so instant when you are caught up in the moment and the grind of only one year."I'll look back in a few decades and wonder, 'How did I do that?'
