It preceded Wednesday's procedural vote in Senate. In a crucial test for the bill, seventeen Republicans joined the 50 Democrats to push the bipartisan legislation.This vote was taken hours after 10 Republican and Democratic negotiators announced that they had reached a deal on infrastructure with the White House. It included a $550 billion spending agreement and $30 billion in reductions.Trump, who has tried to pass his own infrastructure bill throughout his presidency, has been adamant about stopping negotiations in recent days. He told Republican lawmakers to stop the talks, not because of specific issues with the bill's content, but because passing the bill would be a "victory for the Biden administration, Democrats, and...heavily utilized in the 2022 election.""Don't do that Republicans, Patriots will never forget!"
