According to Jon Heyman from MLB Network on Wednesday.This was the latest spat between rivals in the National League Central. Garrett received a five-game suspension for his part in the benches-clearing incident, which began when he and Baez exchanged insults.Baez was unable to play against the Reds on Tuesday due to a left foot injury. Baez was not included in Wednesday's starting lineup between the two clubs."He has a style. After the May incident with Garrett, Baez stated that everyone understands this. "But I won't let him or anyone disrespect me or my teammates. You know, it wasn't a huge situation. "I'm going to keep this professional, but it doesn’t matter who does it in game if someone else does it again. We'll go back out there again."The Reds were in second place in National League Central on Wednesday, seven games behind Milwaukee Brewers. The Cubs are currently in fourth place, 9.5 games behind the Milwaukee Brewers. They are now preparing for the disintegration of their championship core. This could mean that Anthony Rizzo, Kris Bryant, and Baez are traded before Friday's trade deadline.The series finale will be played Thursday between Chicago and Cincinnati. They will then face off six times more before the end, with each team hosting three games.It is yet to be determined if Baez will be a Cub in those matchups.
