In the Asian American community, he was regarded as the most famous Asian American man ever to have sex on television with a white woman. Yeun, a South Korean-born, Michigan-raised actor, discovered acting through his time at Kalamazoo College. He went on to study theater instead of med school, which was a great surprise for his parents. After small roles on The Big Bang Theory, commercial campaigns, and a few other parts, he was cast as Glenn, the brave survivor in The Walking Dead's post-apocalypse zombie hit. Yeun left the show's 2018 commercial success to take on deeper roles in indie films such as Minari and Burning.
