Facebook will require all US employees to have COVID-19 vaccinations upon their return to work, The Verge has learned.In a statement, Lori Goler, Facebook's vice president for people, stated that we will require anyone who comes to work on any of our US campuses to get vaccinated as soon as our offices reopen. The local regulations and conditions will determine how we implement this policy. As the situation changes, we will develop a process to help those who are unable to be vaccinated due to medical reasons or any other reason. We are continuing to work with experts in order to ensure that our return to office plans prioritise everyone's safety and health.Facebook anticipates that it will reopen all US offices in October.The COVID-19 rate is increasing in many parts of the country. On Tuesday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommended that people who have been vaccinated should wear masks indoors and in public settings where there is high transmission. The move by Facebook comes just hours after Sundar Pichai, Google CEO, announced to employees that all students at its campuses would need to be vaccinated. Pichai also stated that Google will delay its office opening until October 18th. This is an increase from September.Lyft will require proof that employees have been vaccinated before they return to work.There are many policy changes. Lyft will now require proof of vaccination in order to return to the office. This was confirmed by @cfarivar. Uber will allow people who have not been vaccinated to return to the office, but they will need to wear a mask.
