"How we implement this policy depends on the local conditions and regulations."Goler stated that Facebook will develop processes to help those who are unable to be vaccinated due to medical reasons or any other reason. Goler said that the company will continue to assess its approach outside of the U.S.Facebook already informed full-time employees that they could work remotely if the pandemic is over.This news comes just a day after Sundar Pichai, Google CEO, told employees that Google would delay its return-to-office plans by one month due to the rapid-spreading Delta variant. Pichai stated that returning workers would need to be vaccinated.Apple had previously delayed its plans for a return to office, but it has not yet made public a requirement that employees be vaccinated. A person familiar with the matter said that Apple will require employees and customers to wear masks at many of its U.S. retail outlets, regardless of their vaccination status. This change is expected to take effect on Thursday.Even though mandated vaccines by employers were rare a few weeks back, some executives seem to have noticed a shift in their thinking due to the new guidance provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.The CDC reversed its previous mask guidance for fully vaccinated persons on Tuesday. It advised that people should wear masks indoors where there is high Covid-19 transmission rates. Rochelle Walensky, Director of the CDC, stated that the change was due in part to new information about the delta variant.
