Deshaun Watson 'very professional' at Houston Texans' training camp; coach says QB not 'a distraction at all'

(0:47).HOUSTON -- All eyes were on Deshaun Watson, the Houston Texans' quarterback, as they took to the field on Wednesday morning for their first day at training camp.Watson, who had requested a trade with the Texans in January, reported to training camp on Sunday. Two months later, Watson was accused of inappropriate behavior and sexual assault in the first of 22 lawsuits. He is currently facing 22 lawsuits.General manager Nick Caserio, and David Culley, head coach, said that Watson's presence at training camps has not been a distraction despite the legal situation.Culley stated that "it's not been distracting at all" when he addressed media members on the first day. "Very professional about all, just like all of the guys who were here. It was business as usual.Watson took part in drills on Wednesday, but he did not participate in any team drills. Watson was only there to act as a safety scout. Culley explained that Watson didn't show up for the offseason program, and had to adjust to the team during the "ramp-up".Culley stated that "not going through the offseason" was a good idea, given the league's current state and the limited reps and limited activities during the offseason. He also said that he wanted to ensure that nothing happens during this ramp up period. "It's true that guys throw too many balls, and it causes sore arms. We want to ensure that none of these things ever happen."Culley declined the question of whether Watson would be joining the team at the beginning of the season.When asked about Watson's future, Caserio stated that they would "kind of take it one at a time" and ultimately, they'd do what is best for Houston Texans.Watson didn't speak with the media after practice. However, three of his teammates, wide receiver Brandin Cooks and running back David Johnson, spoke to the media. Safety A.J. Moore -- All declined to comment on the situation.In a statement released Tuesday, the NFL stated that it is still investigating allegations against Watson but did not restrict Watson's participation in club activities.
