Netflix will require Covid vaccinations for actors and some crew on U.S. productions

The mandate covers all actors and crew who come in contact with them. This is also known by "Zone A" workers. According to the report, all employees in this category will need to provide proof of vaccination.Deadline stated that exceptions to the policy are rare but could include religious, medical and age reasons.This report comes as Covid cases continue rising in the U.S., and new protocols for returning-to-work from Hollywood unions have recently allowed studios to require vaccinations.The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommended Wednesday that people who have been fully vaccinated wear masks indoors in areas with high Covid transmission rates. These states include Georgia and California, which are home to a large portion of U.S.-based TV and film productions.Netflix representatives declined to comment but someone familiar with the matter confirmed that the information was true.Google is not the only major company to have mandated vaccinations. Google announced Wednesday that it would extend its office return policy for employees up until October 18. Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google, sent an email to employees stating that the company will require everyone entering the office to get vaccinated.Deadline has the complete report.
