Why I make everyone in my company be the CEO for a day ' TechCrunch

Leaders are not great because they have power. They are great because they can empower others. While it is not difficult to see that tech companies pride themselves on their culture, the reality is that this is often only a superficial level. You may offer unlimited beer and be pet-friendly, but how do you help your employees to become the best version of themselves? We are most at our best when we have the best employees, so we do everything possible to make that happen. We are most at our best when our people are at their best. Therefore, we do everything possible to make that happen. After running Vincit in Finland, Switzerland and other countries, we moved to the United States in 2016. We opened a California office. Even though we had traveled over 5,000 miles to move to another country, our main KPIs remained the same: employee happiness and customer satisfaction. Happy employees are happy clients, and happy customers refer to you. It was therefore crucial that we brought this positive, prosperous work environment to the United States. We went beyond the traditional benefits like full medical coverage, matching 401ks and office amenities to create and support a supportive environment for our employees. We believe in the power to empower our employees and keep our company culture transparent. There is no hierarchy of roles or managers in our company. All employees are free to work on whatever they want. Our employees are encouraged to travel to Finland to visit our headquarters. Fail & Learn meetings are replaced by Lunch & Learn meetings. Employees can share what didn't work and the lessons they have learned. We let one employee be the CEO for a whole day once a month. The CEO of the Day program is a popular initiative. This program allows our employees to have unlimited budgets and gives them the freedom to work for 24 hours. Only one requirement: Vincit employees must have a CEO who makes a lasting decision to improve their working environment. The CEO of the Day makes the decision that the company will follow. They can buy or modify a policy or update a tool. Anything they think of can be done.
