President Joe Biden warned cyberattacks could escalate to a full-blown conflict as tensions with Russia & China mount over a series hacking incidents that targeted US government agencies, businesses, and infrastructure.Biden stated Tuesday that ransomware attacks and cyber threats are becoming more common in real life.The president stated that if we end up in a conflict with a major power, it will be because of a cyber breach. This was in a speech to the Office for the Director of National Intelligence which oversees 18 US intelligence agencies.Recent hacks have revealed the US's cyber vulnerability. These range from ransomware attacks to stop operations at important oil pipelines and meat packing plants, to extensive espionage breaches to strike at the heart US government.Biden's administration has charged the governments of Russia, China and hackers based in the two countries with some of these attacks.
