Google will require employees to be vaccinated before returning to offices

Google will require employees to be immunized before they are allowed to return to company offices, announced CEO Sundar Pichai today in a letter to The New York Times.Google is now the first technology company to require employees to be immunized before returning to work. This news is part of a wave of new vaccination requirements that Google announced this week. The Biden administration is reportedly planning on requiring federal workers to be vaccinated, or to undergo frequent testing for COVID-19 sometime Thursday.According to the NYT, Google's vaccination requirement will apply to US workers in the coming weeks as well to other regions over the next few months.Google will also delay its official return from offices sometime between September and October 18th due to the continued rise in COVID-19 Delta across the United States. Apple also delayed its end to remote working policies until October due to similar COVID concerns.It is not yet clear if other companies, such as Apple, will follow Google's lead.
