She doubled her score with a backhand shot during the second quarter.Sharmila Devi scored a goal for India, but Lily Owsley struck from close range to bring Britain back in the game.Grace Balsdon converted a penalty strike into the top corner in the final stages.Although Britain was temporarily placed second in the pool, they are now third after Germany's win over Ireland (4-2).Cecile Pieper grabbed the other, Lisa Altenburg scoring twice as Germany built a strong lead.In the third quarter, Elena Tice scored a goal back and Hannah McLoughlin beat Julia Sonntag, Germany's goalkeeper, to give Ireland hope in twelfth minute.Germany proved too strong, and Franzisca Hauke added another before the buzzer. This despite a long video review in which Ireland claimed that Ayeisha McFerran, the keeper, was blocked during the build-up.This defeat means that Ireland remains fourth in pool A while Germany is now at level nine with the Netherlands, who are leaders.Last Sunday's defeat by Germany of 2-1 was a bad start to Great Britain's Tokyo 2020 campaign.Rio 2016 gold medalists were able to get back on track after a 4-1 victory against South Africa.They will face the Netherlands on Thursday while Ireland faces India on Friday.Each of the six groups has four top teams that progress to the knockout stage.
