NFL says no restrictions on Deshaun Watson at Houston Texans camp while investigation ongoing

(1:22).HOUSTON -- The NFL does not place any restrictions on Deshaun Watson's participation in club activities despite the 22 active lawsuits against him, the league stated in a Tuesday statement.Houston Texans will hold their first practice of training camp Wednesday.Watson was the subject of the first 23 lawsuits filed in April. 22 lawsuits are pending against Watson alleging sexual assault and sexually inappropriate behavior during massage sessions.The NFL released a statement saying that the NFL is continuing to review the serious allegations against Deshaun. We are cooperating with the Houston Police Department to ensure that the NFL investigation does not hinder their investigation."We will continue to collect additional information and monitor developments in law enforcement, and we'll make the appropriate decisions consistent both with the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) and the Personal Conduct Policy.Watson is free to participate in club activities at this time.A league source said that the NFL has not been allowed to speak to many of those who have filed the lawsuits, or any third parties with relevant information. The NFL has also not had access to the evidence that police gathered during their investigation.Rusty Hardin Watson's attorney stated Monday that two of the 10 complainants to Houston police have not filed lawsuits against Watson.Three other quarterbacks are on the Texans' active roster: rookie Davis Mills, Tyrod Taylor, and Jeff Driskel.
