Twitter suspended eight accounts which spread lies about Donald Trump's 2020 election. They also demanded partisan audits to verify those lies, one of the latest suspensions on the platform.The official Twitter account of the Republican-led Arizona audit is currently suspended. It is being managed by a contractor who spread conspiracy theories in a recent pro Trump movie. Conservative lawmakers across the country have made Arizona a popular tourist attraction, hoping to replicate it in their own states. The official audit account spread misinformation about 2020 elections.A trolly account called @AuditWarRoom was also suspended. This account spread misinformation and attacked officials and journalists who were critical about the Arizona audit. Unknown owner of the account had previously set up five War Room accounts to push for audits in Michigan and Wisconsin, Nevada, Georgia and Pennsylvania. A separate account was also created for Arizona. All of these accounts were also suspended by social media platforms.Twitter stated in a statement to BuzzFeed News that the accounts had been permanently suspended due to violations of the Twitter rules regarding platform manipulation and spam. Although the company didn't specify when suspensions were implemented, it seems that they occurred on Tuesday afternoon. Audit War Rooms' Instagram account posted about the suspension at 1:30 pm and directed its followers to Telegram and Gettr accounts, which are popular social media platforms for the far right. Instagram didn't immediately respond to a request to comment on whether Audit War Room, which screenshots its tweets, violates its guidelines.
