According to an affidavit by the Department of Health and Human Services inspector, more than a dozen emails were sent from the same address between December and July. They threatened to kill their wives and children in gruesome and vivid terms. Although the emails were not signed and sent from an anonymous ProtonMail account with encrypted passwords, federal investigators claim that Connally used the ProtonMail address to link an Instagram account and another email address. Although federal authorities did not specify Connally's address, the Baltimore Sun reports that he was arrested in West Virginia and was later charged in Maryland. Maryland is home to both Fauci and Collins offices at NIH headquarters. Connally was not available for comment.
