California likely voters split on Newsom recall

California's most likely recall voters are split on whether they want to elect Gov. A Tuesday survey found that Gavin Newsom is the most likely candidate to be removed from office.According to a poll by the University of California Berkeleys Institute of Governmental Studies, and cosponsored by The Los Angeles Times, 47 percent of likely voters supported recalling the Democratic governor. 50 percent opposed it. This difference is within the polls margins of error.According to the survey, 36% of California's registered voters support recall, while 51% favor keeping Newsom. September 14th is the scheduled date for the election.
