Simone Biles, a United States gymnast, has been expelled from the Tokyo 2020 women's team final. Biles, 24, left after scoring 13.766 on vault in the first round - her lowest score ever on this apparatus during her Olympics career. The scores of all three Russian vaulters were higher than those of her USA team-mates. Biles, the US's most successful gymnast, won four gold medals at Rio 2016 and a bronze. Biles' vault was unsuccessful, and there were no obvious injuries. However, she returned to the treatment room looking to flex her ankle. She reached all five individual finals. Next, she will compete on Thursday. On that day, she will try to be the first woman to hold the Olympic all-around title ever since 1968.
