Trump's animus for Bush's three generations was again evident Monday night when he endorsed Paxton in what is sure to be a brutal, competitive election between Bush and his scandal-ridden predecessor.Attorney General Ken Paxton is bravely fighting for Texas and America against the dangerous Radical Left Democrats and the foolish and unassailable RINOs that threaten our Country, Trump stated in a statement. Trump used the acronym for Republicans In Name Only. Ken is strong in the fight against crime, border security, election integrity, and most importantly, our Constitution. He is a great admirer of our Military and Veterans. To make America great again, it will take a patriot like Ken Paxton.Bush family includes former Presidents George W. Bush, George H.W. Bush and the former first lady Barbara Bush had criticised Trump who has repeatedly attacked the family.Trump tweeted in 2013 that we need Bush to be in office again as much as Obama to have a third term. There will be no more Bushes.In the 2016 presidential primaries, Trump also criticized Jeb Bush, George P. Bush's father. However, that didn't stop George P. Bush recommending Trump for his reelection bid last year.Bush mocked Paxton's support Monday night after Trump stated that he did.He tweeted, "I am running for Attorney General because Texans need integrity and honesty from Texas' top law enforcement officer." Texans should not be faced with a long list of criminal charges.Paxton has been close to Trump even though the former president falsely claimed of election fraud after losing in 2020. After Trump backers stormed the Capitol in January 2017, Paxton claimed that the assailants weren't Trump supporters. This stopped speculation that Trump would reward Paxton.Paxton tweeted Monday night that he was honored to have Trump's endorsement.
