Despite concerns from theater owners regarding Black Widows' pandemic box-office success, Marvel Studios has already begun to release the movie larger for home. MCU fans will soon be able buy digital and physical copies of the movie sooner than expected.AdvertisementMarvel today announced that the digital version of Black Widow will become available to download starting August 10. This is in addition to streaming the movie on Disney+ Premiere Access for $30. Black Widows will be available to all Disney+ subscribers starting October 6. This is how many viewers will likely end up seeing the movie for the first-time as Disney+ Premiere Access keeps them on the platform. The film will be available in 4K Ultra HD, Bluray, and DVD formats. These editions include nine deleted scenes and a blooper reel. Although Black Widow's release dates are a bit confusing, they reflect how Disney, just like other studios is still adapting and building a cinematic universe that will be available via a new streaming service. It will be interesting to see if Marvel's home release schedule, which is both staggered and accelerated, becomes the norm as it releases more films such as Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (out September 3), and Eternals(November 5). Black Widows was not Marvel's original intention. However, it became a very public example of a large studio trying out all of the distribution options available to it. Some of these have been disruptive for the industry. It will be interesting to see how the movie plays out in the future. Are you curious about where our RSS feed went. The new one can be found here.
