Apple Museum With 1,500 Exhibits to Open in Poland

It has been announced that a museum dedicated to Apple products will open in Poland this year.It will house 1,500 exhibits that relate to the history of Apple products, including the evolution and development over the years. It is believed to have the largest and most comprehensive collection of its type anywhere in the world. Krzysztof Grychowski, President of Japko's Management Board, stated:Together with our business partners we decided that it was our responsibility to show these rare collections to as wide an audience as possible. The exhibition should be in line with current exhibition formats. It should show technology's development in a way that is easily accessible to all. We want to demonstrate the origins and the directions of civilization. But, most importantly, we want to reveal the true core of technological pop culture. We intend to create a multi-media space that allows people to not only see, but to also experience the exhibition. The museum covers 3,500 square feet and will feature interactive and creative exhibits that include Apple computers, laptops and accessories as well as software, peripherals and posters. The museum's centerpiece is the working replica of Apple I, signed by Steve Wozniak. This serves as the point of departure for visitors' exploration of the museum.Piaseczno was home to a smaller version of the museum. However, the size of the collection meant that a larger space was needed to guide visitors through a timeline. This chronologically presents all Apple products. As visitors walk through the museum, a network of sensors will indicate objects of interest. Scenes will be created around Apple collections in an audiovisual space. Interactive opportunities, including the ability to interact, share cultural contexts, and provide technical information about exhibits, are provided by infographics, lighting, animation, sound and mapping. The exhibition will focus on prototypes that have never been mass produced and devices that are short-lived that failed to sell. Most of the exhibits in this exhibition are either working or are being restored. Visitors will be able touch, test and experience many of them, with help from a curator. The Apple Museum Poland will open in Warsaw's revitalized Norblin Factory Complex.
