10. "I worked my first job at a small BBQ joint with a drive-thru. My manager called me at 8:30 AM to inform me that she was not feeling well and wanted me to open the restaurant. I raced in and ended working the entire day. My manager and the owner of the company, whom she was still dating, arrived at 5:00 p.m. After being at the fair for all day, she had completely forgotten about lying and claiming she was sick. I bit my tongue, and asked if they could take me home. They refused and kept me waiting until 9:00 p.m. I finally took off my shirt, gave them my keys and then walked out of the building shirtless."When I returned home, my father was furious that I had quit my job. I explained to him what I was doing and that I wasn't making enough. He took a look at my pay stubs, and he saw that they had not been paying me overtime during my time there. He ordered me to go back in to demand overtime pay. The manager began crying when I brought in the pay stubs. He gave me cash from the register to cover overtime, and more.
