The new movie Army of Thieves' poster says it all: There are more safes. There are fewer zombies. The film is directed by Matthias Schweighfer and stars Matthias Schweighfer. It tells the story from the perspective of Dieter, one of the main characters in Army of the Dead. Schweighfer joined Emmanuel and his producers at San Diego Comic-Con @ Home for a discussion about the upcoming prequel, which will be available on Netflix in the fall.The idea of the film being set in a time when zombies were common was something we liked, said producer Deborah Snyder. Is there a prequel that is a different type of film? This film is more romantic, comedy, and heist than any other. It just happens to be in a world with zombies in the U.S., which causes instability in the banking system. This is clear from the teaser.
