London Ambulance Service was not present."A 38-year old man was arrested June 2, and bailed pending further inquiries, and then charged."During his playing career, Barton played 269 Premier League games for Queens Park Rangers, Newcastle United and Manchester City. In February 2007, he was also capped for England.The 38-year old was appointed manager of League One side Fleetwood Town, before taking over League Two side Bristol Rovers in 2021.Rovers issued a brief statement on Sunday, indicating their awareness of the charge against their manager.It stated: "The football club is informed of the court hearing involving manager Joey Barton scheduled for Monday 26 July."Due to ongoing legal proceedings, the club cannot make any further comments at this time.
