Bauer asked her if she'd ever been hit. He asked her if she had ever been hit before. She replied that she hadn't. He then said that he would take a shower. As part of her request to the court, the woman, aged 27 years, submitted multiple photos. The photos show that the woman's face is visible bruised and swollen. This includes under her eyes. Her face is also swollen, with a bloodied lip and scratches on the sides.We are not required to give Trevor Bauer the benefit-of-the doubt. Bauer's actions and John Fetterolfs testimony do not indicate that Bauer tried to deny responsibility. She only requested a temporary restraining or order based on key details that were omitted, and what actually happened was consensual. Bauer's lawyer claims that he has messages showing [the accuser] asking repeatedly for rough sexual encounters.I consented to consensual sexual sex. However, the victim revealed to The Athetic that I didn't agree to or consent to the next step. I didn't consent to being sexually assaulted.It doesn't take an investigation or trial to find out that she did not consent to having her skull broken and her face beat. His legal team defense? Only the initial CT scan showed a fracture.While some high-profile athletes earned millions after being accused of violence against women like Jameis Winston, Ben Roethlisberger, and Aroldis Chapman respectively, Bauer would have a much greater impact on their sport. The nature of the alleged assault should not be a problem, but we live in a world where everyone is commodity. Your worth is determined by the number of wins you produce and how many dollars you bring in for your organization.AdvertisementBauer is not only a good at these things. Bauer wants to be the outspoken, public face of the game. He is very active on social media. He has been known to get into fights with other players and punch down, Dave Portnoy style.Bauer may have tried to repair his image, perhaps to cover up his misogynistic tweets. Perhaps Bauer and Luba will be holding puppies and spreading rainbows on IG to make this all disappear.Keep in mind that less than 1% of rape cases result in a conviction for felony. America, what a great system! Give us the benefit of the doubt. It is virtually impossible for Bauer to be held accountable by the system. Our justice system is able to disprove any claim and find technicalities that allow Bill Cosby to walk.AdvertisementTrevor Bauer is not owed that by the court of public opinion or MLB.This would be a shameful act. This would be a disgraceful act of violence against baseball fan victims. Women who work in baseball deserve better. The women in media who cover Bauer (like Brittany Ghiroli and The Athletics Katie Strang, as well as Molly Knight, the Dodgers beat writer) shouldn't have to deal this cretin knowing that he has a vendetta against them.
