AP Photo/Steve DykesMajor League Soccer Monday released its findings from an investigation into racial comments made by a Minnesota United player towards Portland Timbers star Diego Chara. The league said it couldn't confirm the allegation.MLS claimed it interviewed match officials, players, and reviewed tapes but could not "confirm or refute" the allegation.The match between Minnesota and the Timbers on June 26 was stopped at 65 minutes. Portland players informed game officials that a Minnesota player had used racial language against Chara. The match was re-opened with Minnesota winning 1-0.Giovanni Savarese, Timbers head coach, was critical of the lack of action on the field.Savarese stated that he was very, very disappointed that the sport has to deal with such situations. One of our players was subject to a discriminatory comment that could not be used in any sport or any other place.The player under investigation by MLS was not identified. United coach Adrian Heath identified Franco Fragapane last week.Heath stated to reporters, "I'll reiterate what I said: Fraga vehemently denied he did it and he believes us."
