Tony Brothers, James Capers, and Marc Davis all enter their 10th NBA Finals. This will be Courtney Kirkland's first trip to the finals. James Williams, Sean Wright and Marc Davis will also make it."Being selected for The Finals is the highest honor for an NBA official," said Byron Spruell, NBA President of League Operations. "This group has been selected to represent the NBA because of their outstanding performance during the playoffs."Foster's presence will be the most talked about story by the officials, considering his relationship with Suns star Chris Paul. Foster refers to his team's poor record as Foster refers to the game earlier in the postseason. This streak was broken by the Suns in Game 2 against the Los Angeles Clippers in the Western Conference Finals, but Paul was not able to play due to safety and health protocols.Paul could have his thoughts on the referee assignment as he enters the NBA Finals for the first time in his career.First-time officials are also noteworthy as they attain a high honor after rising to the top. Williams and Wright have each been in the NBA for more than 10 years, while Kirkland has been in the NBA for 21 seasons and has officiated over 1,000 regular season games. Each game will have its own game assignment.
