AP Photo/Chuck BurtonJ. Cole's participation in the Basketball Africa League wasn't just a promotion stunt for his album. The rapper is determined to improve his game.Phil Handy, assistant coach to the Lakers, posted a video on Sunday of him doing a workout with Cole & Talen Horton-Tucker. It makes it clear that his album is The Off-Season.Cole scored five points, had five rebounds, and assisted in just 45 minutes during three games with Patriots Basketball Club in Rwanda. With Cole on the roster, the Patriots were 2-0.Although Cole didn't look exactly like a promising NBA prospect during that time, Master P stated last year that Cole had set his sights on an NBA tryout. Handy's work is a sign that Cole plans to continue hooping even if the Association never calls.
