Giannis Antetokounmpo Has Made 'Good Progress' in Injury Rehab, Per Budenholzer

Aaron Gash/Associated PressGiannis Antetokounmpo, Milwaukee Bucks' star, "is making good progress with his hyperextended leg" and hopes to be back in time for Game 1 of this year's NBA Finals.Budenholzer's remarks follow a report by Jared Greenberg, of NBA TV. He stated that Antetokounmpo had made significant progress.Giannis is doing a work out in front of an "army" of observers, per Greenberg. This includes medical staff, team personnel and members of his camp.On Tuesday, Milwaukee will face the Phoenix Suns.Bucks fans were shocked when two-time MVP, Kevin Hart, left Game 4 in the Eastern Conference Finals after suffering a serious knee injury.ESPN's Zach Lowe and Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Antetokounmpo did not sustain any structural damage to his left leg, so it was not the worst-case scenario.Milwaukee won the semifinals of the conference despite his absence. He won Games 5 and 6, scoring 11 points each. The 26-year old's contribution to the Bucks was not diminished by this. During the regular season, he was the team's top scorer (28.1) and rebounder (11.0), and he finished second in assists (5.9). Milwaukee must rely on its top talent more in the midst of the NBA playoffs. The Bucks may be able to win their second championship with Antetokounmpo absent for most or all of the series. They're undoubtedly a weaker team until Antetokounmpo returns. That doesn't bode well for a Suns team that has faced every challenge it faced so far.
