This reality was made clearer by the departure of Alexander Zverev.Federer will be ahead of Daniil Medvedev and Hubert Hurkacz. Their fourth round match was postponed by rain, and the only round of 16 clash in either the men's or the women's draw was moved to Tuesday due to weather.In the women's draw Ashleigh Barty, Aryna Sabalenka won victories to defend their position as top seeds.Barty has been a consistent quarterfinalist over the past few years, while Sabalenka is in final eight for first time in her Grand Slam career.The final eight will feature 13 seeded players. To eliminate Sebastian Korda (the last American man in the draw), Khachanov required five sets and a few more games.Khachanov won a wild fifth set, in which 13 of his serves were broken. To secure his passage to the last eight, the Russian won the last break.In the other quarterfinal matchup, Felix Auger-Aliassime and Matteo Berrettini will be matched up.Berrettini had four wins over unseeded opponents to make it the easiest route to the final eight. That run saw him drop one set.Auger-Aliassime won his quarterfinal match against Alexander Zverev in five sets. Auger-Aliassime & Shapovalov were the first Canadian men to make it into the Grand Slam's final eight.Federer will have to wait until tomorrow to see who the next foe is. Lorenzo Sonego was beaten by the Swiss legend in Monday's Centre Court final.Federer became stronger throughout the match. After winning the first set 7-5, Federer lost six of the three sets.On Wednesday, the 39-year-old will be playing in his 18th Wimbledon singles semifinal. He is the oldest man in tournament history to reach the final eight.Medvedev and Hurkacz saw their match in the fourth set suspended. Jabeur won a set to win against Iga Swiatek. Sabalenka won three sets to beat Elena Rybakina.Because of her position in the women's draw, Sabalenka's win was significant. She had been unable to reach the final eight at Grand Slams and was only able to get three fourth-round berths in 2017.
