However, it did inform us that we would learn more about the upcoming Google-approved smartwatch at its next Unpacked. The company did not specify when, but DigitalDaily News, via 9to5Google, has a report claiming that the next Unpacked event will be held on August 11th at 10 AM ET.According to reports, Samsung will launch five devices at the event.Galaxy Z Fold 3Galaxy Z Flip 3Galaxy Watch 4Galaxy Watch 4 ActiveGalaxy Buds 2The new Galaxy Watches won't use Tizen OS, which is a first for Samsung. Google and Samsung collaborated to redesign Wear OS from scratch, making it more user-friendly and efficient. The devices will be able to keep the long battery life Samsung smartwatches are known for while being compatible with Wear OS smartwatch apps. The watch will have a One UI Watch skin, as Samsung wouldn't be Samsung if they didn't add their own spin to the software. The Z Fold 3 is expected to refine the original Folds concept and not make any major changes to its form factor. Apart from the expected spec bump, the Z Fold 3 will be able to support the S-Pen.According to reports, the event will be broadcast via YouTube as usual. There is no indication that the company intends to hold a simultaneous physical event. The rumored date is just over a month away so I would expect an official announcement by Samsung in the next week.Did you know that we have a newsletter dedicated to consumer tech?
