Miami building collapse: Rescue worker rules out likelihood of any more survivors as three more victims found

Rescue workers believe there is little chance of finding survivors, as three more bodies were found Monday at the Champlain Towers wreckage (Getty Images).A colonel from Israel leading the rescue team said that three more bodies had been found in the debris of Champlain Towers South.Col Golan Vach stated that he believes the odds are very low right now. Given the circumstances that we witnessed in the last few hours, it is difficult for me to professionally say that there is a good chance of finding someone alive.According to the Associated Press, Raide Jadallah, Miami-Dade Assistant Fire Chief, informed victims' families Monday morning that three additional bodies had been found. This brings the death toll from collapsed buildings to 27 and the unaccounted number to 118.The last tower of the apartment building was demolished on Sunday night. This eliminated a risk for rescue workers and opened up an area of rubble they hadn't previously had access too. According to Mr Jadallah, this is the area where the three bodies of the new victims were discovered.This was confirmed by Daniella Levine Cava at a press conference on Monday morning.She said that three more victims were found, after the first responders were able resume work on the collapse yesterday night.Ms Cava stated that the demolition was necessary and carried out exactly as planned. However, she acknowledged the sadness caused by the loss of many condo families.She said that losing your home and your belongings in such a way is a terrible loss.Ms Cava didn't discuss 12 days after the rescue operation began, the likelihood of finding survivors in the rubble.In the meantime, Mr Vach has been open about it in recent days.
