The Pokémon Company and Nintendo revealed new Gigantamax forms for Generation 1's Pikachu, Charizard, Eevee, Meowth, and Butterfree for the upcoming Pokémon: Sword and Shield.
The newly introduced mechanic allows Pokémon to change their size, power, and abilities that allow them to use powerful G-Max techniques. Only certain species are allowed to transform in such a way, like Pikachu, who's Gigantamax takes the form of its original chubby art style from Pokémon: Red and Blue. Electric-type attacks used by Gigantamax Pikachu will change to G-Max Volt Crash, which not only deals damage but also paralyzes all opponents.
Gigantamax Eevee's Normal attacks will change to G-Max Cuddle, which allows it to not only to deal damage when it hits but to infatuate any opposite gender opponent. Trainers that have play records from Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! or on their Nintendo Switch system will be able to receive a special version of the respective Pokémon that can Gigantamax in Sword and Shield.
Others like Meowth, Butterfree, and Charizard have Gigantamax forms with G-Max abilities that damage opponents as well as rewards players with in-game currency and cause status ailments in the process.
Check out the footage above and grab Pokémon: Sword and Shield when it arrives on November 15.
