He finished 33rd in the soaking conditions of Kilkenny.After four strong days at Mount Juliet Herbert continued his European Tour success with the 2020 Dubai Desert Classic. Herbert, who is ranked 100 worldwide, held a one-shot advantage over Johannes Veerman heading into the final round. He picked up two birdies on the first three holes to increase his lead at top of leaderboard.His only missed shot was a bogey on the fifth. Veerman briefly held the lead after the 14th. However, Veerman's combination of two Herbert birdies, two bogeys by the American and two Herbert birdies saw Veerman take the win.Karlberg posted a 5-under-par final round, to become Herbert's closest challenger. However, the Swede was left with too many things to do after his first round of 71.Lowry's score was 66, which was only slightly bettered by Oliver Farr's seven-under-par rounds. Lowry now heads to Royal St George's with momentum. Offaly's Offaly player aims at defending the Open title he won two years ago at Royal Portrush.McDowell finished 56th and McIlroy 59th, respectively. Both players had two-over-par scores of 74s to end their disappointing tournaments.John Caitlin, the defending champion, had a terrible final round of 74 that included three bogeys as well as a double-bogey.
