Fantasy Alert: Chargers' Offense to Run Through Justin Herbert, per HC Brandon Staley

AP Photo/Kyusung GyongJustin Herbert will be the new Los Angeles Chargers offensive coach, Brandon Staley.Staley stated that he wanted the offense to be run through Justin Herbert. He wanted to make it work, and that's what he did on The Athletic Football Show.Staley, who was the Rams' offensive coordinator, explained that he knows the importance of having a good quarterback who is able to make adjustments at the line.Staley stated, "I believe that those are the most dangerous quarterbacks to defend, where quarterback becomes the system." "I've been observing the great players who have played this position, and I have always admired Bill Parcells; he is one of my favorite coaches. Their quarterbacks have played really well since I was a kid."And they've had continuity in their head coach and their systems. That's what a defensive coach can do, and I hope I can offer it to our team. Justin Herbert and our team need to be educated.Herbert was a rising star in his rookie season. He threw for 4,336 yards, 31 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Staley was not allowed the autonomy he envisioned under Anthony Lynn. Former offensive coordinator Shane Steichen handled the plays. Steichen has joined the Philadelphia Eagles so Herbert will now be in a totally different system from the one he was successful with in 2020.It's difficult to predict whether Herbert will be given more responsibility in a fantasy world. It all depends on a quarterback's ability, which varies from one player to the next.Herbert is still safe to be selected among the 10 first quarterbacks in 2021 regardless of his system.
